As you could guess, not much has been going on in Kathmandu lately, at least for me. The next few weeks will be anything but, however. The Hindu holiday of Dashain starts next week and should prove for some good pictures. My Everest trip didn’t pan out, so instead I’ll be heading to Annapurna Base Camp. I’ve heard it said that if you can only do one trek in Nepal, Annapurna is the one to do. Then I’ll be back in Kathmandu for a week, and then home!

Annapurna is the 10th highest peak in the world at 26,545 feet. It is also one of the most dangerous. It has a 40% fatality rate. Four in ten people die climbing it. Not good odds. House always wins, as they say.
